The Best Things to Do After Your Disney Vacation – 48

How do you cope with the letdown of returning home after vacation? This episode details the best ways to make the most of your time after your Disney vacation.

Today we wrap up our Disney planning series. We’ve gone to the parks and enjoyed our vacation. We’re not quite done! Shayne and I will discuss some plans you should make to extend that amazing trip even more.

Tasks to Complete After Your Disney Vacation

Download Photos from My Disney Experience/Memory Maker

You have 45 days from the date the photo was taken. Don’t lose those photos! We’ve got some ideas of how to use those later in the show.

Have a Family Debriefing the Trip

Wow! That trip was a lot! Ask opinions, keep track of your thoughts and ideas. Those notes will come in handy for the next stop.

Have a Post-Trip Meeting With Your Travel Advisor

Tell them what went well with your trip and what you would have like to see go better. This will help them better advise you on your next vacation. Form a relationship with your advisor so they can legitimately advise you and not simply take your orders.

Think of us as your personal vacation sommelier, curating the best experiences tailored specifically to–and personally for–you.

Don’t go to a big box store and buy a big box vacation. Your vacation should be your vacation, not something off the Priceline buffet.

Book Your Next Trip Immediately After Your Disney Vacation

Wait, we can go to Disney again???!. The benefit of getting the next trip on the books (Why we are a “Disney family”

Even if you don’t immediately go back to Disney. Always have your next two trips booked.

Disney is full of fun, happiness, and magic. Well-trained cast members going out of their way to help you have the best experience of your life. After several days of that, then coming back to the “real world,” going back to work, is a huge let-down.

Post Disney Blues has an entry in Urban Dictionary.

Another phrase is PDD, Post Disney Depression.

Instead of wallowing in post-trip blues, embrace the planning of your next travel experience.

How to Extend Your trip

(memories, souvenirs, etc)

Use Those Memory Maker Photos

They’re quality photos by professional photographers. Print some and frame them. Make a photo book for your trip. They’ll make great gifts for the holidays after your trip.

My screen saver is still the photos from our first trip to Disney. It’s all of the Memory Maker photos and the pics we took on our phones.

Display Your Souvenirs

Allow yourself to be creative. Put them where you can see them and relive the memories, where your friends will see them and ask about your trip. When you tell them about it, you get to relive and enjoy those memories all over again.

Wear Your Gear

Hopefully, you got some cool shirts and maybe some Mickey ears. Wear them. Be ready for National Wear-Your-Ears Day on March 29. Our friend Kerri Stuart invented that holiday. Does Rob try to take credit too?

Disney Movies and Music+

Watch the movies that go along with the favorite parts of your trip.
